Gopalakrishna Subbaiya Pillai, a resident of Thane, attended a protest at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. He arrived at the site around 4:30 PM to participate in the event.
Shortly after 5 PM, he experienced severe chest pain and required immediate medical attention. Despite efforts from police and hospital staff, he could not be revived and passed away at Sushrusha Hospital.
