A Bengaluru police sub-inspector was arrested after his wife alleged dowry harassment and assault. The wife stated that the sub-inspector demanded significant dowry and physically abused her.
He also allegedly threatened her and her father with a machete during a dispute. The police initially registered a non-cognisable report before an FIR was filed.
The case will now be transferred to another police station for investigation.
