A local court granted bail to Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre on Tuesday. He was arrested for allegedly assaulting doctors and medical staff at a civic hospital.
Mhatre and three associates were sent to judicial custody following the incident. The alleged assault triggered widespread outrage across Maharashtra after a video went viral.
The two doctors Mhatre is accused of assaulting have since submitted their resignations.
